Artist Statement

All of my work begins with memories of my life so far and relationships with people. The excitement of a first meeting sometimes blows so hotly that it feels like it's going to burn you, and once you come to your senses, only the passionate memories and burns remain. Or, it may blow slowly like a spring breeze, filling you with warmth and letting you know that it is time to travel to a new place. Once I'm ready and all the warm-up is done, I head out on a fun trip with no more fears. Even if another curiosity surrounds me, I don't need to get caught up in it, but just let myself be carried by the wind that blows.

She works using Hanji, a Korean paper. She is an artist who expresses her emotions and relationships with people through her paintings, using symbolic materials to communicate with the audience.
