: 2024 Together Show information and Comments:

The "Canada-Korea, Together Show" is an art exhibition that commemorates the collaboration and friendship between Canada and Korea. Beyond artistic expression, it aims to develop and implement cultural cooperation projects together. The theme of the "2024 Together Show" is "Peace and Prosperity," symbolizing the understanding, collaboration, and shared flourishing of both nations that have resulted from over 60 years of partnership. This exhibition envisions a future where the two countries continue to thrive together.

Moreover, the event serves as a platform for cultural exchange enjoyed by professional artists from both countries and local residents. It aims to facilitate connections and exchanges, fostering ongoing friendship between Canada and Korea. In a departure from the usual trend of cultural exchange exhibitions being held in major cities like Toronto and Vancouver, the "2024 Together Show" takes place in Oakville, a beautiful suburban city in GTA. This decision makes the cultural exchange accessible to Korean immigrants and local residents in western Ontario, adding significance to the event. Consul General of Korea, Duk Hwan Kim, who attended last year's 'Together' exhibition, expressed pride in this fact.

Additionally, during the exhibition period, we plan to provide local residents with opportunities for art education and artwork creation through professional art workshops involving Canadian and Korean artists. Exhibiting the results in local cultural spaces aims to offer a platform for experiencing art and culture, creating a continuum from direct creation to display. All these activities are believed to not only contribute to the cultural enrichment and growth of our local community but also strengthen the close relationship between the two countries.

Deuk Hwan Kim
Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Toronto

It is my great honour and pleasure to extend warm greetings and heartfelt congratulations on behalf of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Toronto for the Opening of the Rainbow Studio Gallery Art Exhibition, "Together 2024." This year, as we embark upon the 2024-25 Korea-Canada Year of Cultural Exchange, we celebrate not only the enduring friendship between our nations but also the dawn of a new era filled with unprecedented opportunities for exchange, cooperation, and mutual enrichment.
The theme of this year's exhibition, 'peace and prosperity,' resonates deeply with the values and aspirations shared by Korea and Canada, and underscores our united efforts to champion peace, democracy, and human rights globally. As we continue to build upon the solid foundation of our strategic and economic partnerships, events like these play a crucial role in deepening our people-to-people ties and strengthening the bonds of our friendship.
This exhibition, a confluence of Korean and Canadian artistic talents, highlights the potential for innovative and creative collaboration between our countries. It not only celebrates our past achievements but also points towards the rich possibilities that lie ahead. I extend my deepest gratitude to all participating artists for their invaluable contributions and for inspiring us with their vision, creativity, and passion. Your works not only transcend boundaries but also serve as bridges connecting hearts and minds across the globe.
Special thanks to Sungmi Kong, whose visionary leadership and relentless dedication have made this event a reality. Her efforts in promoting Korean art in Canada and fostering cultural exchanges are truly commendable and reflect the spirit of this year's theme.
As we mark the 2024-25 Korea-Canada Year of Cultural Exchange, let us look forward to a future replete with closer ties, enriched communities, and shared successes. May our collaborative endeavours continue to flourish, bringing peace and prosperity to both our nations.
Please accept my warmest wishes for a memorable and impactful exhibition.
